Sun Earrings

According to Māori mythology, the sun moved across the sky so rapidly that day and night were very short, so demigod Māui devised a plan with his brothers to slow the sun down with ropes. It is still believed that the rays of the sun are remnants of the ropes.

Made using a laser cutter, with reclaimed plywood offcuts and individually hand-painted.
