Be Creative - Be Sustainable - Mindfully Make

Lucy Pierpoint

Growing up on a farm in Kenya Lucy feels a strong connection to the land and making the most use out of materials. She has had a career supporting waste reduction policy and action through councils and the community as well as having a degree in visual arts.

Her practise as a contemporary jeweller focuses on "Defying Obsolescence"  making use of products no longer deemed useful and transforming them to wearable objects. She is part of the Left Field Artists Collective and has taught a range of ages at Te Tuhi, Nathan Homestead, Eastgate, and Anchorage Park Kindergarten.  Her current projects focus on transforming movie reel and spent fireworks found on beaches.
