Since our founding in 2018, we have made a significant impact on the environment and the community, and we are proud to share our achievements with you.

The ReCreators is a community upcycling collective based in West Auckland, running DIY creative woodworking, gardening, and upcycling workshops for tamariki, rangatahi, and whānau.
We deliver school holiday programmes, maker workshops, and sustainability-focused sessions across Tāmaki Makaurau and the Waikato. Our Green Space which encompasses our wood reclaime centre, Te Whare Tipu (community glasshouse) and craft room is based on Massey, West Auckland. All our materials are processed here and distributed across the motu.
Through creative skill-building with reclaimed materials, we help tamariki and whānau build practical, sustainable skills and a stronger connection to community and place. Free and low-cost workshops run regularly. Get in touch to bring a group, book a school holiday session, or find out what’s coming up next.

Our core work encompasses the following SDGs.

OUR PROGRESS
Our progress is measured through multiple indicators, including the number of workshops we conduct, the level of participation from individuals, the amount of waste diverted from landfills, and the behaviour towards energy/ materials after our educational workshops. In addition, we evaluate our success by the number of community partners who support our workshops by providing resources, such as donated materials, venues, marketing, or mentorship for participants.

SUPPORT OUR MAHI
You can support our work by attending our workshops, sharing what we do with your friends and family, or connecting us with materials that can be upcycled. Together, we can make a difference.
